The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) has shared the September 2024 edition of its Economic Indicators Report, which provides important data for its members and the public to closely follow economic developments in Eskişehir.
The Eskişehir Economic Indicators Report covers the following key areas:
According to the report, Eskişehir's exports showed significant growth. In September 2024, exports increased by 13.16% compared to the same period last year and 6.93% compared to the previous month. This reflects Eskişehir's growing contribution to national trade and the strengthening of its foreign trade.
In September 2024, housing sales in Eskişehir increased by 2.17% compared to September 2023. While 2079 homes were sold in September 2023, this number rose to 2124 in the same month in 2024.
The number of businesses opened in Eskişehir also increased. In September 2023, 120 new businesses were opened, while in September 2024, this figure rose to 141. The number of businesses that closed dropped from 48 in September 2023 to 46 in September 2024.
Another important observation in the report is the increase in bounced checks and protested promissory notes. In August 2024, the total value of bounced checks in Eskişehir increased by 142.35%, reaching 48,429,756 TL, compared to 19,983,302 TL in August 2023.
Similarly, the amount of protested promissory notes increased from 6,852,949 TL in August 2023 to 16,347,809 TL in August 2024, reflecting an increase of 138.55%.
The Eskişehir Economic Indicators Report provides a clear picture of the region's economic developments, showing a positive trend in exports and business openings. However, the rise in bounced checks and protested promissory notes indicates ongoing economic challenges. This report serves as a valuable resource for local businesses and entrepreneurs to better understand the economic environment and make informed decisions.
