The European Film Days, hosted by the Eskişehir EU Information Center, attracted 1,089 cinema enthusiasts who attended the screenings.
Organized under the auspices of the Eskişehir EU Information Center, part of the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce, and supported by the European Union Delegation to Turkey and the embassies of EU member states, the European Film Days were held in Eskişehir. The event featured 18 European films with diverse cultures and themes, shown for free at the Kanatlı AVM Cinema Pink from May 8 to 12, in celebration of Europe Day on May 9. This year marked the second edition of the European Film Days, which started its journey in Istanbul and Ankara and was simultaneously showcased in Trabzon, Izmir, Antalya, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Mersin, and Samsun.
Films from 22 Different EU Member Countries Captivated Audiences
The event showcased films from various countries, including Slovakia, Italy, Finland, Croatia, Hungary, Germany, Estonia, Bulgaria, France, Malta, Greece, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, Romania, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Poland, and Denmark, as well as co-produced films. The screenings were met with great interest from 1,089 attendees. Additionally, on May 12, the Swedish film "I Am Zlatan" was screened, attended by representatives from the Swedish Embassy, including Deputy Ambassador Louise Morsing, Communication and Promotion Officer Betül Elif Uğramaz, and Political Officer Irmak Alpagut. Before the film, the Deputy Ambassador spoke to the audience and watched "I Am Zlatan" with them. The booth distributing books and brochures about Sweden, which remained open throughout the film, attracted significant interest from the viewers.
