The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce has published the April issue of the Eskişehir Economic Indicators Report, which is prepared monthly and shared with its members and the public.
The April report compiled by the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce includes various economic data specifically for its members. The report features information on exchange rates, consumer price index (CPI) rates, producer price index (PPI) rates, total export performance on a monthly basis, import and export figures, housing sales numbers, and the number of opened and closed business transactions. Additionally, it includes data on returned checks, protested promissory notes, central government budget revenues and expenditures, unemployment rates, employment statistics, and active taxpayer counts for income and corporate taxes, as well as the distribution of cash loans.
Decrease in Closed Businesses in April
According to the report, based on TÜİK data, in March 2024, housing sales in Eskişehir accounted for 1.46% of the total housing sales in Turkey, with Eskişehir's exports showing a 6.73% increase compared to the same period last year. The Eskişehir Trade Registry Office data revealed that the number of closed businesses in Eskişehir decreased from 357 in April 2023 to just 42 in April 2024. Furthermore, according to the Turkish Banks Association, the amount of returned checks in Eskişehir increased significantly, from 29,943 TL in March 2023 to 64,694 TL in 2024, marking a 116.06% rise.
