ETO Board Member Emre Demir participated in the Turkey-Azerbaijan Business Forum attended by Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Esedov and Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. During the forum, Demir met with Azerbaijani businessmen and Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Ankara, Reşad Mammadov, to discuss potential steps for enhancing mutual trade between Eskişehir and Azerbaijan.
The forum, organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in collaboration with the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), took place at TOBB's Twin Towers in Ankara. The event saw the participation of prominent figures, including Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Esedov, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, DEIK Vice President Erdal Eren, AZPROMO President Yusif Abdullayev, and KOBİA Board Chairman Orxan Mammadov.
Strengthening Regional Trade
In his opening remarks, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Azerbaijan is becoming a center of trade and culture in the region, which makes the Turkish world proud. He highlighted the significance of the Zengezur Corridor, which will connect Nakhchivan and Baku, stating that it would greatly contribute to the development of regional trade, allowing all parties to benefit from east to west.
Targeting $15 Billion in Trade Volume
In his address, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz remarked that Turkey and Azerbaijan share a historical, cultural, linguistic, and emotional bond as two brotherly countries. He expressed his hopes that the memorandum of understanding signed between TOBB and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), as well as the cooperation action plan signed between the DEIK and the Trade Representative Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, would yield positive outcomes.
DEIK Vice President Erdal Eren noted that the trade volume between Turkey and Azerbaijan is approaching $4.5 billion, with new steps being taken towards a target of $15 billion.

During the forum, ETO Board Member Emre Demir engaged in discussions with Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Ankara, Reşad Mammadov, and Azersun Holding CEO Savaş Uzan regarding actionable strategies to enhance mutual trade between Eskişehir and Azerbaijan.
