Third-grade students from Eskişehir Atayurt Schools visited ETOMÜZE for the "Learning at the Museum" event, where they learned about museology and cultural heritage concepts, as well as Turkey's tangible and intangible cultural heritage lists through interactive activities and games.

Eskişehir Trade and Industry Museum, ETOMÜZE, continues to welcome museum enthusiasts of all ages. The latest guests for the "Learning at the Museum" event were third-grade students from Eskişehir Atayurt Schools. During the five-day event held at the museum, the students received training on Cultural Heritage and Museology and participated in a guided museum tour. Additionally, under the guidance of their teacher Canan Dağ, the students took part in a children’s philosophy workshop focused on the legend of Midas's "golden touch." Lastly, the third-grade students engaged in an interactive game featuring museum terminology, allowing them to learn museology terms while also enhancing their manual skills through panel decoration. At the end of the event, the students were presented with certificates from ETO MÜZE acknowledging their participation.

Students Learned About Museology and Cultural Heritage Concepts

Hakan Kuru, the ETOMÜZE Coordinator, spoke about the "Learning at the Museum" event, which saw the participation of 110 students. He noted that the activities aimed not only to instill a love for museums but also to provide informative educational activities at ETOMÜZE. Kuru explained that the students were educated on how and why cultural heritage should be preserved at ETOMÜZE, and they were introduced to Turkey's tangible and intangible cultural heritage lists. Throughout the five days, cultural heritage examples such as the Phrygian cap, the story of the golden touch, and the Meander motif were taught in an entertaining manner. Furthermore, students received information on the importance that Atatürk placed on archaeology and museology, as well as insights into cultural heritage, archaeology, art history, anthropology, restoration, cultural properties, archaeological sites, UNESCO, and various museum types and rules.
