The European Film Days, hosted by the Eskişehir EU Information Center under the auspices of the European Union Delegation to Turkey and supported by the embassies of EU member countries, are set to begin in Eskişehir.
This year marks the second edition of the event, where 18 European films will be screened at Kanatlı AVM Cinema Pink from May 8 to May 12, coinciding with Europe Day on May 9. The films, ranging from drama to comedy and adventure, will be available for free, with tickets provided at the cinema box office the day before each screening.
Starting its journey in Istanbul and Ankara, the European Film Days will simultaneously showcase films in Trabzon, Izmir, Antalya, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Mersin, and Samsun.
Public Screenings of 18 Films Will Be Free
The films will highlight the diverse cultures and stories of European cinema, beginning on May 8 with Slovakia's “Never Say Never” and Italy's “Dante.” On May 9, viewers can enjoy Finland's “Eli in the Ear,” along with Slovenia, Italy, and Croatia's “Innocent Man.” May 10 will feature Estonia's “War on the Horizon,” Bulgaria's “Jiguli Group in All Its Nakedness,” and France's “Broken Dreams.”
The schedule continues on May 11 with Malta and Canada's “Carmen,” Greece's “Tomatoes When Meeting Wagner,” the Netherlands and Germany's “Hairdresser Romy,” Lithuania's “Don't Forget to Blink,” and “My Grandfather's Devils” from Portugal, Spain, and France. The series concludes on May 12 with Romania and the Czech Republic’s “Mikado,” Spain's “Ramona,” Sweden’s “I Am Zlatan,” Poland's “Villagers,” and Denmark's “The Beauty of Viborg.”
