ESKİŞEHİR CHAMBER OF INDUSTRY ACTING UNETHICALLY

In the January council meeting, ETO President Metin Güler stated that the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry unlawfully registered businesses that do not hold the status of an industrialist, making a significant mistake and acting unethically.

The first ordinary meeting of the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce for 2024 was held on January 30, Tuesday, in the Mustafa Çekiç Meeting Hall. The meeting began with a speech from the Council President Halil İbrahim Ara, during which agenda items were resolved, and ETO's January activities were presented to the council members through a video presentation. President Güler referred to the visits of mayoral candidates to the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce, noting that the Chamber conveyed the demands of its members and the priorities of Eskişehir to the candidates.

We Conveyed Our Members' Demands to the Mayoral Candidates

Güler stated that ETO had highlighted issues such as traffic, parking, urban transformation, the relocation of the industrial market, and infrastructure problems in various regions during these visits. He also mentioned that the unpleasant odor problem faced by members in the Taşbaşı and Hamamyolu regions was communicated to the mayoral candidates. Emphasizing the importance of opening new zoning areas for the future of the city, Güler expressed the expectation that the elected mayor would pay attention to this issue.

New Service Building to Be Completed in November 2024

Regarding the ongoing work on the new service building of the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce, Güler shared that the tender process had been completed, and the construction of the new service building had been tendered at a cost of 97 million lira. He noted that the new service building is planned to be completed in November, aiming to serve members in the new building by 2025. He mentioned that the opening of the new service building would also contribute to the Chamber's new strategic goal of hosting "1 million unique visitors at EFKM," stating that the operational capability of the Chamber would increase with the new service building.

Eskişehir Chamber of Industry Is Acting Inexperienced and Overzealous

Commenting on the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry's unlawful registration of businesses that do not hold industrialist status, ETO President Metin Güler pointed out that even the fuel company he owns was unlawfully registered by the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry. He stressed that the procedures for registering a business as an industrialist are clearly defined in Law No. 5174, yet the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry unlawfully registers firms that do not meet the industrialist criteria. Güler expressed that the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry is making a grave mistake, bringing relationships to a standstill and emphasized that they are behaving unethically.
