A meeting held at ETO with Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Ankara, Ashrafjon Gulov, and his accompanying delegation focused on steps to increase the trade volume between Eskişehir and Tajikistan.
Tajikistan's Ambassador to Ankara, Ashrafjon Gulov, visited the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) to evaluate mutual economic relations. On January 26, Friday, the meeting included Commercial Attaché Hakim Ismoilzod, First Secretary Bakhtiyor Abdughafforzoda, Third Secretary Bakhtiyor Ahmadov, and Attaché Abdurahmoni Mahmadullo. ETO President Metin Güler, deputy chairmen of the council Metin Öztürk and İbrahim Atilla Sabahcı, ETO board members, and representatives from Eray Plastik Ltd. Co., which operates with Tajikistan, also attended the meeting, where a video presentation about the economies of Eskişehir and Tajikistan was made.
Eskişehir and Tajikistan Should Establish Stronger Relations
ETO President Metin Güler expressed his pleasure in hosting the Tajikistan delegation at the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce, noting that Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize Tajikistan's independence in 1991. He stated that relations between the two countries are developing not only in culture but also in economy, trade, politics, and security. Güler pointed out that the export to Tajikistan, according to the export documents approved by ETO, is not satisfactory, and expressed the desire to increase these figures. He emphasized ETO's capability to quickly organize international collaborations for industrialists and entrepreneurs, expressing belief that stronger investment, trade, and cultural relations will be established between Eskişehir and Tajikistan in the new year.

Tajikistan's Ambassador Ashrafjon Gulov stated that the economic and cultural relations between the two countries are continuing to grow. He noted that Turkey is Tajikistan's fifth largest trading partner, highlighting that mutual trade between Turkey and Tajikistan reached around 530 million dollars in 2023, with a target to raise this figure to 1 billion dollars by 2025. Gulov mentioned that the Turkey-Tajikistan Joint Economic Platform will be held in Ankara in April and expressed happiness at the prospect of seeing the ETO delegation and its member businesspeople at this platform.

Ambassador Gulov indicated that Tajik businesspeople would also attend the Turkey-Tajikistan Joint Economic Platform, allowing Eskişehir and Tajikistan businesspeople to collaborate in their respective fields. He viewed the meeting held at ETO as a starting point for cooperation between Eskişehir and Tajikistan, expressing his satisfaction in contributing to the development of commercial and cultural relations between the two regions.
