Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce has reacted strongly to the Eskişehir Industry Chamber's unlawful registration of some ETO member businesses, emphasizing that members can appeal against this illegality and arbitrariness.
In a written statement, the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce condemned the unlawful member registration actions of the Eskişehir Industry Chamber. ETO highlighted that a significant portion of the registrations made by the Eskişehir Industry Chamber to increase its member count is unlawful. The statement read: "Unfortunately, the Eskişehir Industry Chamber has resorted to an unethical path to increase its membership. While the conditions for member registration are clear, architects, auto repair and plumbing businesses, those operating in the construction sector, and butchers who are ETO members and do not have the qualifications of an industrialist are being registered as members by ESO. It should be known that the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce will not remain silent against the unlawful member registrations made by ESO. The qualification of an industrialist is explicitly stated in Law No. 5174 on the Union of Chambers of Turkey and Commodity Exchanges; it is unethical and unlawful for the Eskişehir Industry Chamber to unilaterally decide to register businesses that do not qualify as industrialists or employ fewer than 10 workers as members. Our members can appeal against this unlawfulness and forced member registration within 10 days from the date of acknowledgment. Contact information and appeal petitions have also been communicated to our members. Finally, we advise the Eskişehir Industry Chamber not to act unlawfully to increase its revenues, to find alternative solutions, and to cease harassing our members. As the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce, we emphasize that we will not allow this initiative and will exercise our legal rights against this unlawfulness."
