In a speech at the Chamber of Commerce meeting, ETO President Metin Güler emphasized that Eskişehir can achieve significant successes in the second century of the Republic, but for this to happen, all elected and appointed officials in the city must work together.
The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) held its regular meeting for October. The meeting, which took place in the Mustafa Çekiç Meeting Hall, began with remarks from ETO Assembly President Halil İbrahim Ara. During the meeting, the agenda items were voted on by the assembly members. ETO President Metin Güler started his speech by wishing mercy upon Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all those who contributed to the country’s progress on the occasion of the centennial anniversary of the Republic. He congratulated Elif Gürkaynak, who was re-elected as the President of the TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Committee, which operates under ETO's coordination, and expressed his best wishes for the new term to her and the committee members.
Unity Established by Chambers Should be Reflected in the City
Regarding the second century of the Republic, ETO President Metin Güler expressed his belief that Eskişehir will have a significant role in this period. He pointed out that Eskişehir is a city with potential, increasing value-added production every year, and exports exceeding 4 billion dollars. Güler emphasized that with its service sector, qualified human resources, agriculture, and trade, Eskişehir could achieve even greater successes. However, he noted that such success could only be realized rapidly if all institutions, organizations, and officials in the city can act jointly on matters concerning the city's future. Güler expressed his desire to see this unity and cooperation in Eskişehir during the second century of the Republic. He stated that ETO, the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry, the Eskişehir Commodity Exchange, and the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone have achieved this cooperation and have managed to act collectively in decisions affecting the city’s economy, reiterating that ETO will continue to take responsibility on matters concerning the city’s future.
Our Professional Committees Work to Solve Members’ Problems
In his remarks about the activities of the Chamber's professional committees, ETO President Metin Güler highlighted that the committees lead the identification of their sector members' demands and convey their problems to the relevant institutions and organizations. He noted that a total of 555 professional committee meetings were held in the past year to identify members' issues and relay their requests, resulting in 650 decisions, which have been communicated to the relevant bodies. Güler thanked the professional committees for holding nearly 20 sectoral consultation meetings in a year and for visiting 45 public institutions and organizations to relay the requests of ETO members.
