GÜLER REMİNDS EU UNDERSECRETARY ABOUT VİSA ISSUES

ETO President Metin Güler met with Ramunas Janusauskas, Head of the Communication Department of the EU Delegation to Turkey, at the Eskişehir Fair Congress Center (EFKM) to discuss Eskişehir’s trade and industry, emphasizing the need for the EU to facilitate visa processes for traders, industrialists, and workers.

During the visit on Thursday, September 28, Janusauskas engaged with ETO President Metin Güler and the chamber delegation. Güler informed Janusauskas about Eskişehir's trade and industry, noting that the city's exports have surpassed $4 billion, predominantly to EU countries.

Güler pointed out that with new investments, Eskişehir is poised to take a leading role in high value-added manufacturing, adding that the Eskişehir Industry Fair and B2B Bilateral Business Meetings contribute to this vision. He expressed concern about the challenges faced by traders and industrialists in obtaining visas for EU countries, stating that ETO is attempting to address this issue through visa facilitation agreements with the embassies of France, Italy, and Hungary. Güler underscored the need for streamlined procedures when issuing visas to Turkish businessmen and workers by EU countries.

Janusauskas Praises the Eskişehir EU Information Center

Ramunas Janusauskas expressed his satisfaction with the efforts of the Eskişehir EU Information Center, noting its role in organizing the Antakya Civilizations Choir concert after the earthquake and recently bringing together women entrepreneurs' councils from Trabzon, Şanlıurfa, and Eskişehir. He highlighted that the Eskişehir EU Information Center contributes to both the cultural and economic life of the city.

Regarding Güler's visa request, Janusauskas mentioned that officials in the EU and Turkey are working together to resolve the visa issue. He also extended an invitation to ETO President Metin Güler to visit Brussels for business contacts and collaboration discussions. After the meeting, a presentation was made to Janusauskas about the upcoming activities and projects of the Eskişehir EU Information Center. He also visited the Eskişehir 3rd Industry Fair held at the ETO TÜYAP Fair Center.
