Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) President Metin Güler held a meeting with industry representatives in observance of Insurance Week. During a breakfast meeting with insurance agents, President Güler emphasized the crucial role of insurance in reducing financial losses. He noted that they have communicated the issues faced by insurance agents regarding traffic insurance to TOBB and stated that they are actively following up on these initiatives. Güler mentioned that steps have been taken through the Insurance Agents Executive Committee.
Rising Prices Have Not Reflected on Agents’ Profitability
Güler pointed out that they are monitoring the problems within the sector, highlighting that inflation has led to increased insurance coverage, higher comprehensive insurance costs, and consequently, citizens are hesitant to purchase insurance and comprehensive policies. He noted that the decline in the number of individuals acquiring insurance and comprehensive policies has negatively impacted agents’ businesses. Additionally, he stated that the rising policy prices have not reflected in the commission rates of the agents, which has made things challenging for them.
We Will Continue to Support the Development of the Insurance Sector
Güler indicated that ETO is committed to contributing to the development of the insurance sector. He mentioned that they are organizing SEGEM (Insurance Training Center) training and will also provide training on the Individual Retirement System (BES). He highlighted that the chamber's relevant professional committee is working effectively on the sector's issues and reaffirmed ETO’s commitment to supporting the growth of firms in the insurance industry. President Güler concluded by celebrating Insurance Week with the agents and representatives from the sector, listening to the demands of the members involved in the insurance industry.
