2ND RAİL INDUSTRY SHOW HELD AT EFKM

The opening ceremony of the 2nd Rail Industry Show, part of the Eskişehir Rail Systems, Infrastructure, and Technologies Summit and Fair, was conducted at the ETO-TÜYAP Fair Center with participation from officials and business representatives.

The 2nd Rail Industry Show commenced under the roof of the Eskişehir Fair Congress Center (EFKM) on September 19. The ceremony was attended by Eskişehir Governor Hüseyin Aksoy, CHP Eskişehir MP Jale Nur Süllü, Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor Ali Yeldan, Eskişehir Trade Provincial Director Cemil Kürkçü, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Gendarmerie Colonel Metin Ünlü, ETO President Metin Güler, President of the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone Nadir Küpeli, General Manager of Modern Fair Organization Morris Revah, and representatives from the business world.

Eskişehir’s Hosting of the Railway Fair is Encouraging

In his speech, Governor Hüseyin Aksoy emphasized the importance of railway transportation in improving logistics costs, noting that one of the objectives of the Republic of Turkey is to increase the share of logistics freight and passenger transport by rail. He expressed his pleasure in Eskişehir hosting such a fair, highlighting its role in connecting producers with stakeholders in the sector.

Güler Highlights the Size of the Global Rail Systems Sector

ETO President Metin Güler pointed out that the global trade volume for passenger and freight transportation in rail systems has reached $460 billion. He stated that Eskişehir must do its part in this sector. Güler mentioned Turkey’s vision for rail systems by 2053, which aims to increase the number of logistics centers from 12 to 26 and to expand the number of provinces with high-speed train connections from 8 to 52. He stressed the importance of investing in the rail systems sector, which has a promising future both globally and in Turkey, and noted that Eskişehir has a rich history in rail systems and boasts an advanced technology-producing industrial structure.

Eskişehir Will Regain Its Central Role in Rail Systems with New Investments

Nadir Küpeli, President of the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone, discussed investments in rail systems, highlighting that they have allocated part of the Hasanbey Logistics Center for the rail systems sector. He emphasized that Eskişehir will regain its central position in rail systems production within a few years, noting that Erciyas Holding, a key player in the sector, will invest $100 million in smart wagons in Eskişehir. Küpeli added that Eskişehir would be one of the central points on the Railway Silk Road stretching from Beijing, China, to London.

The Fair Will Contribute to the Sector through Cooperation Meetings

Morris Revah, General Manager of Modern Fair Organization, stated that one of the fair's objectives is to strengthen ties in the rail systems field and pave the way for the sector. He remarked that railways symbolize progress and sustainable development, and the fair aims to bring together both producers and ancillary industry firms through cooperation meetings. Following the speeches, the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place, and the protocol visited the booths of the participating companies at the fair.
