Women entrepreneurs from Trabzon, Şanlıurfa, and Eskişehir gathered at the "Women Entrepreneurs Meeting: Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship" event, hosted by the Eskişehir EU Information Center and the TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council, to hear from executives of firms making significant strides in digital transformation and e-commerce.
The event, organized with the support of the EU Delegation to Turkey, took place at the Mustafa Çekiç Assembly Hall of the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO). The opening ceremony was attended by AK Party Şanlıurfa MP and TOBB Şanlıurfa Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council President Cevahir Asuman Yazmacı, TOBB Trabzon Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council President Zühal Akyüzlü, TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council President Elif Gürkaynak, and members of women entrepreneurs councils from Trabzon, Şanlıurfa, and Eskişehir.
The Number of Women Entrepreneurs in Turkey Continues to Rise
In her speech, Cevahir Asuman Yazmacı expressed her hopes that the event would be a promising development for women entrepreneurs and contribute to those in the three cities. She noted that the program aims to enhance the culture of collaboration among women entrepreneurs and to help them overcome obstacles in commerce. Yazmacı highlighted that women entrepreneurship has made significant progress in Turkey, with the number of women engaged in e-commerce increasing each year.
ETO Vice President Alp Praises Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council
ETO Vice President Özgür Alp emphasized that the development of the Turkish economy hinges on the advancement of women entrepreneurship. He stated that ETO fully supports the Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council. Alp acknowledged the impactful work of the TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council and thanked its President Elif Gürkaynak and the council members for their contributions to the development of women entrepreneurship.
Creating a Collaborative Ground for Women Entrepreneurs
Zühal Akyüzlü, a member of the TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council and President of the Trabzon Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council, expressed her satisfaction with the program's goal of providing a foundation for collaboration and cooperation among women entrepreneurs from Eskişehir, Şanlıurfa, and Trabzon. She noted that the event would also evaluate methods that women entrepreneurs can use to overcome challenges.
Supporting Women Entrepreneurs in Digital Transformation
Elif Gürkaynak, President of the TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council, pointed out the rapid development of technology worldwide and its impact on trade, stating their aim to inform and encourage women entrepreneurs in terms of digital transformation. She announced that executives, trainers, and experts from pioneering firms in Turkey would share their experiences during panels throughout the program, reaffirming their commitment to support women entrepreneurs.
Prominent Figures in Digital Transformation and E-Commerce Served as Panelists
The morning session of the "Women Entrepreneurs Meeting: Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship" featured discussions on various topics, including "Introduction to New Generation Trade" by Emre Demir, CEO of aZall.com and ETO Board Member; "How Do I Protect My Idea as an Entrepreneur?" by Av. Dr. Barış Günaydın, President of the Eskişehir Branch of the Turkish Informatics Association; "From Digital Marketing to E-Export" by Mehmet Erdemi, Co-Founder of Exporgin Digital Technologies; and "Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age" by Ozan Acar, Executive Board Member of Trendyol.
In the afternoon panels, speakers included Betül Uslu, Digital Manager of Mux, discussing "New Generation Tools for New Generation Entrepreneurship & The Entrepreneur's Journey"; Can Akalın, CEO of Growth Lead, on "Those Who Succeed in Digital"; and Alphan Manas, Honorary President of the Association of Futurists, discussing "The Future and Entrepreneurship."
At the end of the program, plaques were presented to contributors of the "Women Entrepreneurs Meeting: Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship" by ETO Vice President Özgür Alp, Assembly President Halil İbrahim Ara, and Elif Gürkaynak. The two-day event will continue with intercity collaboration meetings at ETO.
