GÜLER: "WE MUST PLAN THE NEXT DECADE FOR ESKİŞEHİR"

In his speech during ETO's May ordinary assembly meeting, President Metin Güler stated that with the conclusion of the election atmosphere in the country, focus will shift to the economy and production. He emphasized the necessity for all institutions, organizations, and parliamentarians in the city to come together to create a ten-year roadmap for Eskişehir.

The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) held its ordinary assembly meeting for May. Typically held on the last Tuesday of each month, this meeting was conducted on Monday, May 29, due to the TOBB General Assembly. The meeting began with a speech from Vice President Metin Öztürk in the Mustafa Çekiç Assembly Hall, where agenda items were discussed and decided upon. President Güler congratulated the re-elected President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Eskişehir parliamentarians who will represent the city in the assembly. He expressed hopes that the elections would be beneficial for the country and the city, noting that the end of the election atmosphere would also bring an end to uncertainties and prioritize the economy.

We Should Focus on New Markets for Exports

Highlighting the negative economic factors present in the world and Europe, Güler pointed out that Germany has entered a recession and the Russia-Ukraine war continues. He remarked that these challenges significantly impact Turkey, which is an integral part of the global economy and engages in exports.

Güler indicated that the European Union countries are among Turkey's largest export markets and stated that to avoid being affected by negative developments in the EU, Turkey needs to diversify its markets. He emphasized Turkey's strengths, including its geographic location, skilled workforce, and production capacity, asserting that with the right planning, Turkey could elevate its position in the global economy.

We Must Plan Eskişehir’s Future for the Next Decade

Güler also emphasized the importance of Eskişehir's economic infrastructure, noting that the city's service sector, trade, and high-value industrial production are continuously developing. He highlighted the necessity for newly elected parliamentarians and all institutions in the city to come together to prepare a ten-year plan and roadmap for Eskişehir. Güler stressed that all parliamentarians and institutions should convene around the same table to discuss the future of Eskişehir, which would enable the city to make significant progress in various areas.
