The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO), in collaboration with the Eskişehir Tax Office, held an informational meeting regarding Law No. 7440 on restructuring.
This meeting added to ETO's ongoing efforts to inform its members. The session, held in the Mustafa Çekiç Assembly Hall, included participation from Eskişehir Tax Office President Ahmet Çelik, ETO President Metin Güler, Assembly President Halil İbrahim Ara, and assembly members. In his address, Eskişehir Tax Office President Ahmet Çelik announced that Law No. 7440 came into effect on March 12, 2023, and emphasized that applications must be submitted before May 31, 2023, to benefit from the restructuring provisions.
Restructuring Law Provides Convenience for Taxpayers and Citizens
President Çelik highlighted that this restructuring law offers broader opportunities compared to previous laws, including options for correcting business records and increasing tax bases. He also noted that citizens and taxpayers can check their public debts via the e-Government portal and make payments easily.
Outstanding Chamber Dues Can Be Paid in 9 Installments
Before the meeting, ETO President Metin Güler mentioned that Law No. 7440 provides ease for businesses regarding public debts, stating that ETO members can pay their dues from before December 31, 2022, in nine equal installments without interest or late fees.
Group Managers Presented Details of the Restructuring Law
During the meeting, Corporate Taxation Manager Erhan Özbek provided insights on tax base and tax increase provisions, Group Manager Ramazan Şanlı discussed the correction of business records and shared provisions, and Group Manager İbrahim Bahadır Uygun elaborated on the scope of Law No. 7440, including finalized and disputed receivables as well as receivables at the examination and assessment stages. The group managers also answered questions from ETO members regarding the restructuring law.
