GÜLER: "MAY THE WİNNER İN THE ELECTİONS BE ESKİŞEHİR"

In the ordinary assembly meeting of April, ETO President Metin Güler emphasized the importance of elected members of parliament lobbying for Eskişehir regardless of their party affiliations. He highlighted the need for collaboration among all institutions and organizations for the benefit of the city and urged unity among parliamentarians when making decisions that serve Eskişehir’s interests.

The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce held its April ordinary assembly meeting in the Mustafa Çekiç Assembly Hall, starting with an opening speech by Assembly President Halil İbrahim Ara, followed by the decision-making on agenda items. During the meeting, ETO President Metin Güler stated that the chamber continues to work to address members’ requests and resolve their issues. He mentioned that ahead of the May 14 elections, he presented the members' requests and Eskişehir’s priorities to the parliamentary candidates visiting ETO, emphasizing that regardless of their political parties, elected representatives must come together around the same table for the city.

The Importance of Lobbying Demonstrated in Hasan Polatkan Airport Case

Güler underscored the necessity for all members of parliament, regardless of party affiliation, to engage in lobbying for Eskişehir after May 14. He reflected on the significance of collaborative efforts during the process of closing flights at Hasan Polatkan Airport last year. Güler expressed his gratitude to Eskişehir MPs Nabi Avcı, Emine Nur Günay, Utku Çakırözer, Jale Nur Süllü, and Arslan Kabukcuoğlu for their support in reopening flights at Hasan Polatkan Airport, stating that the solidarity displayed on that occasion should be maintained in all matters concerning Eskişehir’s future.

Eskişehir Cannot Afford to Waste Time on Small Issues

Emphasizing the importance of a bipartisan approach in matters beneficial to Eskişehir, Güler noted that the city has been left isolated due to personal disputes and the attitude of “I know best, my way will prevail” in recent years. He asserted that Eskişehir no longer has the time or energy to waste on small calculations, expressing hope that all elected representatives will lead efforts for Eskişehir's voice to be heard more strongly and for problems to be resolved swiftly. He expressed his belief that the MPs would work together to successfully represent Eskişehir on both national and international stages.

A Need for Synergy and Energy to Propel the City Forward

In today’s competitive era, Güler pointed out that cities, rather than countries, are competing against each other. He stated that cities that achieve unity and collaboration in all areas move ahead. Güler stressed the need for synergy and energy that brings together all stakeholders in Eskişehir to elevate the city to its rightful place across various sectors, from trade and industry to tourism and agriculture.

May the Winner Be Eskişehir in the Elections

Güler expressed his belief that in the upcoming term, parliamentarians will set aside party badges to address the issues facing Eskişehir and the demands of traders and industrialists. He noted that this understanding and unity have been experienced in other cities, and Eskişehir must adopt this mindset as well. Wishing success to the parliamentary candidates in the May 14 elections, ETO President Metin Güler reiterated that the true winner of the elections should be Eskişehir.
