MINISTER OF ENERGY AND NATURAL RESOURCES LISTENS TO ETO’S REQUESTS

ETO President Metin Güler conveyed the requests of Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce members and the priorities of Eskişehir to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and AK Party candidate for Eskişehir MP, Fatih Dönmez.

Minister Dönmez, along with Eskişehir Governor Erol Ayyıldız, visited ETO, accompanied by candidate Derya Çıraklı, AK Party Eskişehir Provincial Chairman Süleyman Reyhan, and local organization members. During the visit, President Metin Güler presented the demands of the members and Eskişehir’s priorities to Minister Dönmez in a file. After the meeting, Minister Dönmez stated that they visited ETO following their meeting with ESO and the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone, discussing various topics and listening to ETO's requests. He emphasized their close collaboration with the business community and their commitment to addressing the demands of the industry.

Rapid Steps Must Be Taken to Produce Global Brands from Eskişehir

Minister Dönmez noted that Eskişehir has high potential, and they are working to convert that potential energy into kinetic energy. He acknowledged that while Eskişehir has produced national brands, swift actions are now needed to create global brands. He expressed confidence that both the public and the industrialists believe in this vision, committing to work vigorously to realize it. Dönmez highlighted that producers have been negatively affected by increases in raw material and energy prices in global markets following the pandemic but noted that recent declines in prices over the past two quarters have somewhat stabilized the situation.

50% Reduction in Energy Prices Since October

To ensure energy prices do not adversely affect the competitiveness of industry and producers in international markets, Minister Dönmez stated they are making every effort to bring them down to reasonable levels. He reported a nearly 50% reduction in electricity and natural gas prices since October of last year. He also shared that over the past 20 years, 15,860 brand applications have been made from Eskişehir, resulting in 1,104 patents and 5,257 design applications, indicating a high spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in the region. Dönmez added that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would be in Eskişehir for a series of programs on April 18.

Güler: “We Hope to Continue Sincere Relations with the Business Community”

After the meeting, ETO President Metin Güler noted that it was their first time meeting with Minister Dönmez, describing the atmosphere as very warm. He shared information about Eskişehir from the perspective of business people and expressed his appreciation for Dönmez's familiarity with issues related to Eskişehir. Güler hopes that the sincere relationships that began in this setting will continue in the future.
