ETO President Metin Güler announced that with member support, 10 trucks of in-kind aid and a truckload of medical supplies have been sent to the earthquake-affected areas, and both in-kind and cash aid efforts are rapidly ongoing.
Following the earthquake disaster in Kahramanmaraş, Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce President Metin Güler provided an update on the relief efforts. Güler shared that, thanks to members' contributions, ETO has sent 10 trucks of in-kind aid and a truck of medical supplies to the affected areas. “With our members' support, we delivered 2 trucks of water, 2 trucks of bread, 2 fully equipped container homes, and 1 truck of medical supplies to Üngüt, a district of Kahramanmaraş, and the districts of Kırıkhan and Antakya in Hatay. Additionally, we sent 4 trucks of essential items, including pulses, dry food, biscuits, stoves, electric heaters, coal, blankets, and cleaning supplies,” he stated.
2,000 Blankets for Earthquake Victims
Güler noted that in-kind aid collections continue at the Eskişehir Fair and Congress Center from 09:30 to 19:00 daily. “As an organization, we are solely focused on earthquake relief, and our in-kind aid efforts are proceeding rapidly. A textile company in Eskişehir has halted all production to manufacture 2,000 blankets, which we ordered, and is dispatching each batch as it’s completed. We need everyone’s support to aid the citizens in the region, as the scale of this disaster is immense,” he added.
More Support Needed for Earthquake Victims
ETO President Metin Güler expressed gratitude to those providing in-kind and cash aid. “The total cash donations collected by our members for earthquake relief have reached 1.6 million TL. However, we hope this figure will continue to grow, as this is a time when everyone needs to contribute as much as they can. Members can send their cash donations to the IBAN TR 08 0001 5001 5800 7285 0044 75, under the name ‘ESK.TIC.ODASI EGT.VESOS.H.VAK,’” he said.
