To support Eskişehir-based companies in the software and IT sectors on the global stage, the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) took the first step in its overseas marketing efforts for the ESİYAK project with engagements in the Netherlands.
ETO began the international marketing activities of the Eskişehir Innovation Software and R&D Cluster (ESİYAK) project, conducted in cooperation with ATAP A.Ş (Anatolian Technology Research Park), in the Netherlands. The first engagement took place in Amsterdam as part of the project supported by the Ministry of Trade under the HİSER (Service Sector Competitiveness Enhancement Program). ETO President Metin Güler, along with representatives of IT and software firms involved in the ESİYAK project, visited Turkey’s Consul General in Amsterdam, Engin Arıkan, to share information on the project's progress.
Aiming to Bring Our IT Companies to the Global Arena
ETO President Metin Güler noted that the project includes eight companies operating in software and IT, aiming to elevate Eskişehir’s companies in these sectors to the global market. The Netherlands, a major player in the global IT sector, was chosen as the starting point for the first overseas marketing activity. Güler highlighted their goal of strengthening Eskişehir’s capabilities in R&D, innovation, software, and IT. Consul General Engin Arıkan expressed satisfaction with the visit, stating the consulate’s willingness to support the ETO project with ATAP A.Ş and was pleased to see ETO pursuing international meetings in the software and IT sectors.
Face-to-Face Business Meetings with Dutch Firms
Following the visit to the Turkish Consulate in Amsterdam, the ETO delegation met with the international firm CMS law-tax-future. CMS experts provided an overview of the procedures, tax requirements, and legal processes for establishing companies in EU countries. After the CMS briefing, ETO members involved in the ESİYAK project held face-to-face business meetings with Dutch companies specializing in software, IT, and hardware on an international scale. The discussions were attended by Ministry of Trade Assistant Specialist Derviş Doğruer, where firms shared details of their ongoing projects and activities.
