In the first assembly meeting following the elections, ETO President Metin Güler discussed the chamber’s activities and current issues concerning the business community.
The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce held its first post-election assembly meeting on Tuesday, October 25. The meeting began with a speech by Assembly President Halil İbrahim Ara, followed by a video presentation summarizing October’s activities, and the approval of agenda items. ETO President Metin Güler provided insights into the chamber's work and shared his economic evaluations. He highlighted that the EYT (retirement age law) is currently under discussion, noting that compensation will be due to employees upon retirement. He advised businesses to prepare for these payments and adjust their financial statements accordingly.
Güler Highlights Rising Energy Costs
Güler also addressed minimum wage discussions, pointing out that various figures are being debated. He emphasized their support for improving the well-being of all workers but expressed hope that the burden on employers would also be eased. Regarding energy costs, Güler noted that rising energy prices are a global concern, impacting Turkey as well. He remarked that everyone, from small shop owners to large industrialists, is affected by increases in natural gas and electricity prices. He expressed expectations for a reduction in tax rates on natural gas and electricity to mitigate potential future price hikes.
