Leading companies in defense and industry sectors gathered once again at the ETO TÜYAP Fair Center for the second Eskişehir Industry Fair.
The Eskişehir Industry Fair, which serves as a meeting point for Turkey’s top aviation, defense, and industrial giants, opened its doors for the second time on Tuesday, October 18. Supported by the Defense Industry Directorate, the fair was hosted by ETO TÜYAP Fair Center, with prominent companies such as Aselsan, Havelsan, İşbir Elektrik, Roketsan, STM Defense, TEI-TUSAŞ Engine Industries Inc., and TUSAŞ Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. setting up booths. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Defense Industry President Harun Çelik, Deputy Governor Salih Altun, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Hasan Ünal, ETO President Metin Güler, Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone President Nadir Küpeli, Eskişehir Chamber of Industry President Celalettin Kesikbaş, TÜYAP Anatolian Fairs Inc. General Manager İlhan Ersözlü, and representatives from the protocol and foreign missions.
Increasing Support from the Defense Industry Directorate
In his speech, Deputy Defense Industry President Harun Çelik highlighted the strong participation from the Defense Industry Directorate this year, expecting increased attendance at the B2B meetings compared to last year. He emphasized the importance of a skilled workforce, noting that 16 university clubs of young students were also attending the fair. Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Hasan Ünal underscored the importance of producing high-value-added products for Turkey’s future and thanked all participating companies.
Güler Highlights B2B Meetings
ETO President Metin Güler emphasized that the fair is hosting representatives from 14 countries and 157 companies, including from the United States, Japan, Germany, China, France, and the United Kingdom. He noted that the B2B meetings, held in conjunction with the fair, provide Eskişehir’s firms with opportunities to meet and collaborate with key players in the defense industry.
An Estimated 25,000 Visitors Expected This Year
TÜYAP Anatolian Fairs Inc. General Manager İlhan Ersözlü expressed gratitude to all supporting institutions, noting that valuable companies from both Eskişehir and across Turkey gathered at the Eskişehir Industry Fair. Last year’s fair attracted around 20,000 visitors, and Ersözlü stated that they anticipate approximately 25,000 attendees this year.
Emphasis on High Value-Added Production by Industrial Leaders
Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone President Nadir Küpeli highlighted the unique importance of the industry fair for Eskişehir’s industrialists, noting that it supports the country’s growing emphasis on high-value-added production and exports. Eskişehir Chamber of Industry President Celalettin Kesikbaş added that the ESO, with nearly 1,000 members, is contributing to an estimated turnover of $7 billion and exports approaching $4 billion. He also thanked everyone involved in organizing the fair.
