The Eskişehir EU Information Center, operating under ETO, brought together young people for the #EUYouth4Days (EU for Youth) event, organized in partnership with Brussels. Supported by the EU Delegation to Turkey, the event saw participation from youth center employees, university students, and representatives from associations and civil society. The program began in the morning and continued with afternoon sessions.
Youth Followed the Agenda of EU Countries
Students and participants working on EU and youth policies closely followed live broadcasts from Brussels, listening attentively to experts and commission members. Speakers at the conference addressed topics such as digitalization, entrepreneurship, global climate change, the main demands of young people in neighboring EU countries, youth responses in times of war and crisis, reactions to social issues, and employment plans for youth across Europe.
Challenges Facing Eskişehir Youth Discussed
In parallel with the topics discussed in Brussels, sessions moderated by Assoc. Prof. Ali Onur Özçelik from Osmangazi University’s Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences explored the impact of global issues on youth, potential future consequences, and ways to build resilience in young people. Participants discussed the opportunities and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that unemployment, economic hardships, the climate and energy crisis, the pandemic, and education are the primary issues affecting young people in Eskişehir.
