HONORING OUR MARTYRS OF DEMOCRACY WITH RESPECT

On July 15, 2016, our beloved nation stood firmly against a treacherous coup attempt, with the Turkish people demonstrating their unwavering belief in democracy through their stance and struggle.

On the night of July 15, the Turkish people stood fearlessly against the coup plotters, risking their lives to protect the future of our country.

The date of July 15 has underscored the importance of taking necessary measures to avoid facing such threats again and of taking stronger steps to reinforce our democracy.

With these sentiments, on this July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, we remember with mercy our Republic’s Founder, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and all our heroes, and we express our gratitude to our veterans.
