The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) has added a new initiative to its efforts in supporting companies operating in the software and information technology sectors. The E-Turquality (Stars of Informatics) program was introduced at ETO. This program, developed by the Ministry of Trade to boost Turkey’s IT sector exports, was presented to industry representatives at ETO. In his opening remarks, ETO President Metin Güler noted that the Turquality Program had contributed to expanding Eskişehir-based brand Sarar globally and emphasized that the E-Turquality program provides multi-faceted incentives and support for IT sector companies. Güler highlighted ETO’s commitment to helping Eskişehir’s IT and software brands reach a global scale and stated that they are working to ensure ETO members benefit from these supports. He expressed that the IT and software sector holds significant added value and noted that Eskişehir has the potential to make a name for itself in this field.
The New Smokeless Industry: Information and Communication Technologies
Deputy General Director of International Service Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Çiğdem Şamiloğlu Erkoç, stated that the E-Turquality program was recently launched and tailored to meet the demands and expectations of the business world. Erkoç explained that the Ministry of Trade’s primary goal is to increase exports, with a particular focus on high value-added products, including those in information and communication technology. She referred to information and communication technologies as the "new smokeless industry" and highlighted Turkey’s aim to expand its $2.5 billion export in this sector.
E-Turquality Supports Explained to Companies
Trade Specialist Özgür Özenci delivered a presentation on the support offered under the E-Turquality (Stars of Informatics) Program. He explained that companies operating across a broad spectrum, from software and digital gaming to artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, can benefit from the program. Özenci detailed the conditions under which companies in the sector could utilize the support provided within the scope of the program.
