Meeting with industry representatives for Insurance Week, Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce President Metin Güler listened to the sector's demands and concerns.
Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce President Metin Güler came together with industry representatives at a breakfast meeting for Insurance Week. In his speech, ETO President Metin Güler mentioned that they couldn't hold the planned meeting earlier due to the pandemic. He thanked insurance sector representatives for their contributions in reducing risks both in business and daily life, and for helping to secure valuable assets.
The Importance of Insurance Has Increased These Days
Güler noted that we are going through times when the concept of insurance has become even more critical. He mentioned that it has become increasingly difficult to replace a lost asset, making insurance a lifeline. Güler highlighted that they have organized numerous awareness campaigns to emphasize the importance of insurance and have made efforts to meet all the demands of their members. He also pointed out that ETO members participated in the insurance fair organized for the first time.
Insurance Agents' Requests Taken to Court
Stating that they follow up on the problems faced in the sector, Güler explained that they initiated actions through TOBB (The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) to eliminate the grievances caused by recent decisions on digital insurance activities, and the issue has been taken to court. ETO President Metin Güler emphasized that there is intense competition among insurance agents and that agents should work together to compete with digital insurance.
Challenges in Providing Traffic Insurance
Güler mentioned that agents have complained about the unwillingness of insurance companies to provide traffic insurance due to the imbalance between claim and premium rates, and he expressed hope that this problem would be resolved soon. He noted that agents have been facing difficulties due to the recent increase in both traffic and automobile insurance policy prices, stating that price increases negatively impact not only the insurance sector but all sectors. After his speech, Güler listened to the demands and expectations of the members in the sector.
