The Eskişehir Furniture Fair (Eskişehir Furniture, Interior Design, Carpet, Lighting, Decoration, and Sub-Industries Fair) hosted by ETO TÜYAP Fair Center officially opened with a ceremony on Wednesday, March 23. Governor Ayyıldız highlighted the essential role of furniture throughout daily life and expressed satisfaction in connecting with sector manufacturers at the fair. He emphasized the importance of this event for strengthening trade connections and supporting local production in Eskişehir.
Güler Highlights the Importance of Unity in the Furniture Sector
ETO President Metin Güler underscored the significance of bringing furniture industry producers together for collaboration. He noted that while Eskişehir had hosted furniture fairs in the past, they were held in less formal, market-like settings. This is Eskişehir’s first professionally organized furniture fair, exclusively featuring local producers. Güler expressed gratitude to participating companies and supporting institutions, noting that the fair provides an excellent platform for competition and product promotion.
Expecting 25,000 Visitors from 27 Countries and Across Turkey
TÜYAP Anatolia Fairs General Manager İlhan Ersözlü stated that the Eskişehir Furniture Fair is the first specialized fair of its kind in the region. He announced that nearly 25,000 visitors are expected, including business representatives from 27 countries and approximately 30 cities across Turkey.
Industry Leaders Emphasize Eskişehir's Furniture Legacy
OSB President Nadir Küpeli, who also supplies raw materials for the furniture sector, expressed pride in Eskişehir’s rich history in furniture production. He emphasized ongoing efforts to revitalize the sector and assured continued support for local furniture firms from the OSB. Chamber of Industry President Celalettin Kesikbaş highlighted the importance of the Eskişehir Furniture Industry Cluster Association (ESMOS), expressing optimism that Eskişehir’s furniture sector will re-emerge stronger. Carpenters and Furniture Makers Chamber President Cengiz Kalkan echoed this sentiment, expressing confidence that the fair will grow in strength in the coming years.
A Milestone for Eskişehir's Furniture Sector
ESMOS President Ertuğrul Tezgören remarked that Eskişehir, often referred to as the birthplace of furniture, has hosted smaller fairs in informal locations in the past, but this marks the city’s first comprehensive furniture fair. Following the opening speeches, representatives from the protocol and business community visited the exhibition stands.
