TAX AUDIT BOARD VISITS ETO

A delegation from the Tax Audit Board of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey visited the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO), providing insights into the structure and activities of the institution and informing members about taxpayer rights.

The visit, held on Wednesday, February 2, included Deputy Chairman of the Tax Audit Board Nihat Etik, Department Head Bayram Gülçiçek, and Chief Tax Inspectors Mehmet İşcan and Tayip Boyraz. Deputy Chairman Nihat Etik explained that the purpose of the visit was to engage with civil society organizations representing traders and industrialists and to learn about the business community’s requests and challenges. Etik emphasized the importance of traders, industrialists, and artisans who contribute to added value and employment, noting that through their audits, they work to protect the rights of those who fulfill their tax obligations and civic duties.

Güler Conveys Members’ Requests to the Tax Audit Board

During the visit, ETO President Metin Güler stressed that paying taxes is a duty for all citizens and noted that traders in Eskişehir are among the top in fulfilling this responsibility. Güler conveyed ETO members’ requests to the Tax Audit Board, noting that conducting tax audits through the Bursa center complicates and extends the audit process for Eskişehir taxpayers. He highlighted the need for consideration of the difficulties traders face during the audit process and in its implementation. The visit included a presentation to the ETO Board of Directors and Assembly on the organizational structure of the Tax Audit Board, its scope of activities, and newly implemented electronic auditing applications.
