During a meeting attended by Vasyl Bodnar, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Ankara; Kazım Kurt, Mayor of Odunpazarı; and Metin Güler, President of the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO), steps to boost trade volume between Eskişehir and Ukraine were discussed.
Invited by the Municipality of Odunpazarı, Ambassador Vasyl Bodnar and Fastiv Mayor Mykhailo Netyazhuk visited Eskişehir and were welcomed at the ETO. The meeting included Mayor Kazım Kurt, Counselor Denys Zolatarov and Chief Economic Secretary Borys Uvarov from the Ukrainian Embassy in Ankara, ETO Assembly President Halil İbrahim Ara, and board members. The focus was on enhancing economic relations between Eskişehir and Fastiv, Ukraine, and exploring potential collaborative actions.
ETO Cooperates with Chambers in 23 Countries Abroad
ETO President Metin Güler expressed his satisfaction with the visit of Ambassador Bodnar and the accompanying delegation, stating that ETO remains committed to expanding Eskişehir's export potential and supporting its members' exports. Providing insights into the sectoral distribution and potential of Eskişehir's economy, Güler noted that ETO collaborates with 23 chambers internationally. He emphasized ETO’s readiness to provide the necessary support and infrastructure to expand the trade volume between Eskişehir and Ukraine, pledging efforts to strengthen cooperation between both sides.
We Want to Leverage Eskişehir's Industrial Expertise
Ambassador Vasyl Bodnar mentioned ongoing efforts toward a free trade agreement aimed at boosting trade between the two countries. He noted that trade volume between Ukraine and Turkey is expected to reach $8 billion by the end of 2022. Highlighting a particular interest in Eskişehir’s experience and potential in the aviation and defense industries, Bodnar affirmed the embassy’s support in fostering mutual trade and relations through cooperation among chambers, municipalities, and institutions on both sides.
Netyazhuk Invites Eskişehir Businesspeople to Fastiv
Fastiv Mayor Mykhailo Netyazhuk shared that a sister chamber agreement was signed with Odunpazarı Municipality in December, and this visit aimed to further strengthen trade relations between Eskişehir and Fastiv. He emphasized that Fastiv, located at the intersection of two European cities, offers valuable investment opportunities for businesspeople seeking to expand into Europe. Highlighting incentives and tax advantages for companies investing in the newly established industrial zone, Netyazhuk invited Eskişehir businesspeople to visit Fastiv for insights into the city’s economy and potential cooperation. The meeting also included a presentation providing extensive information about Ukraine’s economy, investment areas, available incentives, and requirements for receiving tax support.
