FASHION ESKİŞEHİR ENCHANTS THE FASHION WORLD

Fashion Eskişehir, Eskişehir's first fashion design competition, concluded with a magnificent runway show and awards ceremony, earning high praise from both attendees and leaders in the fashion industry.

Organized by the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce with the theme The Power of an Innovative Past, the Fashion Eskişehir Fashion Design Competition wrapped up with a spectacular finale. Supported by the Ministry of Trade and in cooperation with Eskişehir Technical University and the TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council, the event took place at the Vehbi Koç Congress Center. The ceremony and fashion show, attended by prominent figures in the business world, protocol, and fashion community as well as guests from across Turkey, began with a short film prepared for the competition.

A Competition to Energize Eskişehir in Fashion Design

During the ceremony, hosted by journalist and writer Ece Vahapoğlu Alpay, Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce President Metin Güler expressed excitement and pride in taking an important step for Eskişehir's contribution to the fashion sector. Güler shared their goal to establish Eskişehir as a significant name in fashion design through the Fashion Eskişehir Fashion Design Competition, which received applications from 340 young designers across Turkey, with 15 making it to the final. Güler also emphasized the importance of the support given to Fashion Eskişehir Fashion Design Competition, extending thanks to contributing organizations, institutions, fashion houses, and jury members.

Winners Earn Cash Prizes and International Education Opportunities

The designs of the 15 finalists were showcased on the runway, choreographed by Asil Çağıl, and received great acclaim from the audience. In the competition, a jury including Prof. Cafer Arslan, Didem Taslan, Elif Gürkaynak, Emel Yıldırım, Emre Erdemoğlu, Emre Sarar, Eray Köseoğlu, Erol Albayrak, Gülay Kamaz, Gürdal Abacı, Hacer Özil, Cihan Nacar, İdil Demirel, Kerem Can Apaydın, Muammer Kapucuoğlu, Nazım Kanpolat, Nefise Karatay, Nilgün Okutan, Prof. Dr. Sedefhan Oğuz, Sema Güral Sürmeli, Ümit Temurçin, Sibil Çetinkaya, Dr. Şakir Özüdoğru, and Uğurkan Erez evaluated nine designs in the categories of wedding dresses, evening gowns, and casual wear.

Nine Young Designers Rank in Three Categories

Following the jury’s evaluations, winners were announced in three categories: wedding dresses, evening gowns, and casual wear. In the wedding dress category, Umut Bakır took first place, followed by Aytül Akdoğan Öneme in second, Özge Turunç in third, Su Dura in fourth, and Buse Barlas in fifth. In the evening gown category, Öztürk Yıkılmaz came first, with Özlem Yelekin, Kübra Öztürk, İzel Sandıkçı, and Irmak Belen Esen following. In casual wear, Dilara Övet placed first, with Gamze Şahin, Asena Kılıçarslan, Fatıma Boyraz, and Asya Özden rounding out the top five. The top three winners in each category received cash prizes and international internship and educational opportunities. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the finalists and to the fashion houses and stakeholders who contributed to the competition.
