ESKİŞEHİR TAKES A STEP FORWARD IN FASHION

The fashion industry and business world gathered for a press and promotional event held on December 17th, Friday, at the Rahmi Koç Museum in Istanbul, featuring the jury of the Fashion Eskişehir Fashion Design Competition.

Organized by the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with Eskişehir Technical University and the TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Board, the press and promotional meeting for the Fashion Eskişehir Fashion Design Competition was held. The event took place on December 17th at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum. It was announced that prominent figures from the fashion and business sectors, including Emel Yıldırım, Nefise Karatay, Didem Taslan, Prof. Dr. Sedefhan Oğuz, Arzu Kaprol, Uğurkan Erez, Büşra Orakçıoğlu, Sema Güral Sürmeli, İdil Demirel, Muammer Kapucuoğlu, Elif Gürkaynak, Gürdal Abacı, Kerem Can Apaydın, Cihan Nacar, and Emre Erdemoğlu, will serve as jury members.

ETO President Güler Provided Information About the Competition

During the meeting, ETO President Metin Güler stated that the Fashion Eskişehir competition was organized to strengthen the design infrastructure of small-scale manufacturing firms, enhance their competitive aspects, connect designers with firms, and provide experience for young fashion designers. Güler noted that 340 young designers applied from all over Turkey, and 15 of them advanced to the finals, gaining the opportunity to turn their designs into reality in workshops in Eskişehir. He mentioned that those who excel in the competition would not only receive monetary awards but also gain access to international training and internship opportunities provided by the Ministry of Commerce. Güler emphasized that Fashion Eskişehir would benefit both the firms in the industry and the young designers seeking experience.

Despite being held for the first time, Güler highlighted the significant interest and impact of Fashion Eskişehir. He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce for their support, to Eskişehir Technical University for their contributions, and to the jury members. He added that the fashion show and award ceremony of the Eskişehir Fashion Design Competition would take place on January 16, 2022, at the Eskişehir Vehbi Koç Congress Center. The jury members present at the meeting, including Emel Yıldırım, Didem Taslan, Prof. Dr. Sedefhan Oğuz, Arzu Kaprol, Büşra Orakçıoğlu, İdil Demirel, Muammer Kapucuoğlu, Kerem Can Apaydın, Cihan Nacar, and Emre Erdemoğlu, shared their thoughts on the Fashion Eskişehir Fashion Design Competition.
