In his remarks during the October regular meeting, ETO President Metin Güler emphasized the chamber's commitment to protecting the rights of its members and supporting the removal of barriers to trade.
The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) held its October regular meeting on October 26, led by Deputy Chairman of the Assembly Atilla Sabahçı. The meeting began with an opening speech from Sabahçı, followed by assembly members discussing and voting on agenda items. Additionally, a video presentation highlighted the activities conducted by the chamber in October.
Engaging with Members to Address Trade Issues
In his address, President Güler stated that the chamber has been working diligently in October to serve its members and the city. He mentioned meetings with SMEs in the metal and manufacturing sectors, members engaged in cafeteria operations, and firms involved in concrete production, building inspection, concrete laboratories, and construction contracting to discuss trade-related challenges.
Communicating Eskişehir's Priorities to the Highest Levels of Government
Güler noted that they have also listened to members’ demands during field visits and conveyed them to the relevant authorities. Recently, they had the opportunity to present a file detailing the priorities of traders and Eskişehir to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who visited the Vehbi Koç Congress Center. He highlighted that the file addressed longstanding issues such as the North Ring Road, Hasan Polatkan Port, and the railway connection to Gemlik Port, as well as demands emphasized by members over the past two years.
Rising Costs Increasing Burdens on Traders
In his economic evaluation of the country and the city, Güler remarked on the challenges faced by the business world due to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates and noted that rising costs have increased the burdens on traders, merchants, and industrialists. He concluded his remarks by commemorating Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, along with all martyrs and veterans, in light of the upcoming Republic Day on October 29.
