RECORD NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS FOR ESKİŞEHİR’S FIRST FASHION DESIGN COMPETITION

The application process for Fashion Eskişehir - Eskişehir Fashion Design Competition, organized by the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and in collaboration with Eskişehir Technical University and TOBB Eskişehir Women Entrepreneurs Board, has concluded with a record number of entries.

The competition, which aims to instill a culture of design among local businesses in the bridal, evening wear, and women’s apparel sectors, saw applications officially close on October 15. However, due to high demand, the deadline was extended to October 20, resulting in an impressive total of 340 entries across three different categories.

Applications from All Over Turkey

ETO President Metin Güler expressed his satisfaction with the widespread interest from aspiring designers nationwide. He noted that organizing Eskişehir’s first-ever fashion design competition is a source of excitement, with the goal of strengthening the competitive edge of bridal and women’s fashion businesses in Eskişehir.

Semi-finalists to Be Announced on November 1

Güler shared that the semi-finalists in each category will be announced on November 1, 2021. He added that contestants will have their designs manufactured by ETO-member companies, fostering collaboration between businesses and designers. Güler emphasized that the competition will contribute significantly to Eskişehir’s fashion design culture and expertise.
