Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) President Metin Güler has strongly criticized the opening of a local products market within ESPARK AVM, emphasizing that such sales harm local merchants and traders who pay their taxes and fulfill their obligations. He reiterated the chamber's commitment to combat those who consider the city to be ownerless.
Güler stated that the opening of a local products market within ESPARK AVM allows external firms to sell under the guise of local products, thereby putting Eskişehir traders and producers at a disadvantage. He expressed concern that businesses in Eskişehir, which are striving to meet their responsibilities, are suffering from these practices.
External Firms Taking Advantage
Highlighting the attempts of those who view Eskişehir as an unprotected city, Güler noted that they have repeatedly tried to sell local products through tents or markets under various names and practices. He stated that the chamber is actively working to prevent such applications and protect the rights of Eskişehir firms. Güler also mentioned that, due to contacts established by the ETO, the previously popular local product tents are no longer appearing as frequently across the city, leading those who seek to harm local businesses to set up in shopping malls instead.
Call for Responsibility
He urged everyone living and earning in Eskişehir to act responsibly in order to protect the rights of local traders and merchants. Güler called on the management of ESPARK to immediately cease this practice. He emphasized that the ETO will continue to fight against those who disregard Eskişehir and its businesses, committing to strive to protect the rights of their members on every platform.
