In response to the wildfires affecting southern Turkey, Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) President Metin Güler delivered two truckloads of household goods to assist affected families.
Following a call from President Güler, a campaign was initiated through the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce Education and Social Services Foundation to help those impacted by the wildfires in the southern provinces. Under the coordination of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the necessary household items for the region's residents were identified. After completing the needs assessment, ETO purchased a total of 306 pieces of household items to be sent to the fire victims, including 116 sofas, 50 beds, 50 bed bases, 50 cooktops, and 40 refrigerators. The two truckloads of goods were dispatched from Eskişehir to Antalya to reach the affected citizens.
Urgent Household Items Given Priority
ETO President Metin Güler met with Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Davut Çetin to deliver the aid materials to needy families. Güler expressed happiness about being part of the effort to heal the wounds caused by the fires. He noted that the needs assessment for the aid campaign was conducted in collaboration with regional chambers and emphasized that priority was given to the household items families urgently needed.
Generosity of ETO Members Makes Aid Possible
Güler highlighted that through the aid campaign, ETO members reached out to over 100 families in need, and the household items provided to the fire victims were sourced through the generosity and altruism of ETO businesspeople. He thanked the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce community for responding to the call for help and pledged that the chamber would continue to act with a spirit of solidarity.
Over 2,000 Homes and Businesses Rendered Unusable
Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Davut Çetin stated that the wildfires rendered over 2,000 homes and businesses unusable, as well as damaging 75,000 hectares of forest and agricultural land. He emphasized that the wounds of the fire could be healed much more quickly through collaboration and support. Çetin thanked ETO President Metin Güler and the traders in Eskişehir for extending a helping hand to the fire victims.
