Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce President Metin Güler met with members operating in the medical sector to hear about the industry's issues, noting their efforts to resolve the collection problems faced by medical companies that have not received payments for over 18 months.
On September 15, Güler held a meeting at ETO with members from the medical sector, including ETO Council Member Lokman Can and other industry representatives. During the meeting, members expressed their concerns regarding unpaid receivables from public entities, stating that medical firms are on the verge of being unable to operate.
Companies in Difficulties Due to Unpaid Receivables
The ETO members indicated that they have not received payments from the public for nearly 18 months, emphasizing that it is impossible for medical firms to bear this burden. They pointed out that similar issues had occurred in previous years and mentioned their obligations to employees, banks, and institutions, which they cannot fulfill due to the inability to collect receivables from public sources.
Our Members in the Medical Sector Are Experiencing Hardships
During the meeting, President Güler listened closely to the detailed issues faced by the members and acknowledged the struggles of the medical sector, which is responsible for supplying non-pharmaceutical medical materials, prosthetics, orthotics, laboratory supplies, and consumables. He noted that ETO is aware of the grievances and is making efforts to address the problem. Reminding that there are 340 members in the medical sector within ETO, Güler stated that they are in contact with TOBB and all other chambers in Turkey to resolve the public receivable issues faced by their medical sector members.
