Republican People’s Party (CHP) Eskişehir Deputies Utku Çakırözer and Dr. Jale Nur Süllü visited Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce President Metin Güler. During the meeting, Güler discussed the economic effects of the pandemic on Eskişehir and the challenges faced by members, emphasizing the need for the continuation of the short-time work allowance. Güler highlighted how supermarket chains have taken advantage of weekend restrictions by continuing operations and selling a wide range of products from A to Z, underscoring the importance of ending this unfair competition.
Unfair Competition to Be Addressed in Parliament
After listening to President Güler’s concerns, CHP Deputies Utku Çakırözer and Dr. Jale Nur Süllü stated that they would bring the issue of unfair competition by supermarket chains to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. They emphasized the importance of addressing the needs of traders, industrialists, and shopkeepers and reiterated their commitment to listening to the demands of the business community.
