With the campaign organized by Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) in collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent Western Anatolia Regional Blood Center, blood donations will be held in the city center as well as in BAKSAN and TEKSAN industrial sites.
The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce announced its blood donation campaign with a press conference in partnership with the Turkish Red Crescent Western Anatolia Regional Blood Center. The press conference for the campaign, titled "An Open Invitation to Our Blood Friends," took place on Thursday, April 1, at ETO. ETO President Metin Güler, Turkish Red Crescent Western Anatolia Regional Blood Center Director Dr. Erkan Ergen, and TEKSAN Industrial Site Cooperative President Ramazan Karamanlı attended the event. Sharing details of the campaign, ETO President Metin Güler highlighted the adverse impact of the pandemic on blood supply and expressed the chamber's commitment to facilitating life-saving blood donations.
Everyone Has a Responsibility in Blood Donation
Reminding that anyone could need blood at some point, ETO President Metin Güler emphasized that all citizens, institutions, and organizations share a responsibility to provide blood for those in need. He noted that blood donation vehicles would be stationed in the city center and industrial sites as part of the campaign and encouraged members to wholeheartedly support it. Güler also extended his gratitude to TEKSAN Industrial Site Cooperative President Ramazan Karamanlı and the President of the Chamber of Turners and Car Mechanics, Adnan Karamanlı, for their contributions to organizing the campaign.
Thanks from the Blood Center Director to ETO
Dr. Erkan Ergen, Director of the Turkish Red Crescent Western Anatolia Regional Blood Center, emphasized the significant role of addressing blood shortages caused by the pandemic, especially ahead of the month of Ramadan. Ergen stated that the Red Crescent has stood by the nation during challenging times for 153 years and has been responsible for blood banking in Turkey since 1957. He assured that blood donations are conducted in a highly sterile environment and that all Covid-19 precautions are strictly observed in donation vehicles, adding that every blood donation saves three lives. Ergen expressed his gratitude to the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce for organizing this campaign.
Blood Donation Vehicles to be Stationed at Key Points in the City
As part of the campaign organized by ETO and the Turkish Red Crescent Western Anatolia Regional Blood Center, blood donation vehicles will be stationed at industrial sites and in the city center. The schedule is as follows: April 5, Monday, in front of Adalar Migros; April 6, Tuesday, in front of the TEKSAN Industrial Site 112 Station; April 7, Wednesday, in front of TEKSAN Kebir Mosque; April 8, Thursday, in front of the Social Facility of the Chamber of Turners and Car Mechanics; and April 9, Friday, in front of Baksan Mosque.
