In a seminar attended by Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) President Metin Güler and Hungarian Ambassador to Ankara Viktor Mátis, opportunities for enhancing mutual trade and investments were discussed. The online seminar, titled “Turkey-Hungary Cooperation and Investment Opportunities,” was held in collaboration with the Hungarian Embassy on March 26 and broadcasted via ETOTV.
Developing Trade Relations Between Hungary and Turkey
ETO President Metin Güler emphasized the longstanding historical ties between Hungary and Turkey, noting recent increases in trade volume and high-level consultations aimed at reaching a $6 billion trade target. Güler stated that the seminar provided an important step towards reaching this goal by exploring investment opportunities and trade relations between Eskişehir and Hungary.
Expanding Eskişehir Producers’ Market Reach
Highlighting ETO’s commitment to boosting exports and expanding the market reach of Eskişehir-based manufacturers, Güler expressed hopes to strengthen trade opportunities between the two regions through this collaboration. He also expressed gratitude to the Hungarian Embassy for its support in facilitating visa processes for Eskişehir businesspeople, making cross-border business easier.
Strategic Significance of Bilateral Relations
Hungarian Ambassador Viktor Mátis expressed his pleasure at connecting with business leaders from Eskişehir, despite the delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. He emphasized that relations between Turkey and Hungary have reached a strategic level since 2013 and announced plans for further collaborations in 2024, marking the Hungary-Turkey Cultural Year.
Support and Guidance for Business Collaborations
Ambassador Mátis reiterated that the Hungarian Embassy is committed to supporting Eskişehir businesspeople in their travels to Hungary. He underscored the potential benefits of cooperation between ETO and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, offering full support for building collaborative platforms to boost bilateral trade.
