The Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) has launched the “Keep Working Safely” campaign, aimed at raising awareness about Covid-19 preventive measures to prevent disruptions in economic and social life in Eskişehir. The campaign, under the slogan "Let’s Not Stop Life," focuses on avoiding further closures in the service sector. It was introduced at a press conference held in the ETO Assembly Hall, attended by Eskişehir Governor Erol Ayyıldız, Deputy Governor Aslan Avşarbey, Provincial Health Director Prof. Dr. Uğur Bilge, ETO President Metin Güler, Assembly President Halil İbrahim Ara, and other board members.
ETO Provides Extensive Support to Members
ETO President Metin Güler highlighted that, over the past year, the pandemic has heavily impacted Eskişehir’s service sector. To support its members, ETO provided approximately 77 million lira in credit and collaborated with Halkbank and Ziraat Bank to facilitate supply chains. Güler emphasized that the chamber has used all available resources to offer financial support and to protect both members and employees, including distributing food to 3,500 service sector employees and supplying 100,000 masks during the shortage.
Preventing Business Closures is Key
Güler stressed the importance of this campaign to protect businesses from having to shut down again, which would negatively impact workers and businesses alike. The campaign will utilize all communication channels, including billboards, posters, and press, to spread awareness. Businesses will also receive posters with the “Keep Working Safely” slogan.
Unified Efforts and Precautions are Essential
Governor Ayyıldız remarked that the pandemic has affected both public life and business negatively and that observing preventive measures could reduce the spread of Covid-19. He acknowledged the importance of ETO’s campaign in raising awareness and highlighted that reducing cases is possible if everyone follows the guidelines. Ayyıldız also urged residents to be especially mindful of mask-wearing, social distancing, and hygiene in crowded areas and public spaces to control transmission.
