GÜLER SHARES INSIGHTS AT TOURISM SEMINAR

ETO President Metin Güler was a guest speaker at an online seminar organized by Anadolu University's Tourism Faculty, where he discussed ETO’s tourism-focused projects and Eskişehir's tourism potential.

During the seminar, held as part of the “Sectoral Relations in Tourism” course and moderated by Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Oktay Emir, Güler shared insights about ETO’s activities, member services, and contributions to the city’s economy. He highlighted how the pandemic has heavily impacted the service sector globally and in Eskişehir, emphasizing that ETO has worked tirelessly to support businesses during these challenging times. “The financial assistance provided to ETO members reached 77 million liras, and we also provided food aid to 3,500 industry workers,” Güler noted.

Supporting the service sector and enhancing tourism

Güler underscored Eskişehir’s advantages in tourism, not only in the city center but also in its districts, rich with tourism assets. He stated that ETO is committed to promoting this potential by organizing seminars, training sessions, and projects to support the service sector. Among these projects, he highlighted the Eskişehir Fair Congress Center, set to host a wide range of events as pandemic restrictions ease, and the Eskişehir Commerce and Industry Museum (ETOMÜZE), which contributes to Eskişehir’s image as a “city of museums,” having welcomed over 100,000 visitors.

Advice for students: gain experience and plan your career

Güler also offered career advice to students, stressing the importance of experience in the workplace. He recommended gaining practical experience through internships, which helps graduates stand out in job applications. Güler emphasized setting career goals and making plans to achieve them and advised students to invest in learning foreign languages.
