In a seminar broadcast on ETOTV and attended by Eskişehir Provincial Health Director Prof. Dr. Uğur Bilge, essential COVID-19 precautions for the food and beverage sector in the new controlled normalization process were outlined.
Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce (ETO) organized another informative session for its members, this time in collaboration with the Provincial Health Directorate, focusing on measures for the food and beverage sector. Held on March 10 via ETOTV, the seminar featured Provincial Health Director Prof. Dr. Uğur Bilge, Public Health Services Director Dr. Aslı Melek Zeytin, and ETO Board Member Bülent Şarlar.
Şarlar: "Everyone must follow the rules"
ETO Board Member Bülent Şarlar emphasized, in his opening speech, that since the pandemic began, efforts have been made to inform members in the sector and implement necessary workplace precautions to prevent the virus spread. He urged everyone to strictly follow guidelines to avoid harsher restrictions.
Dr. Bilge’s emphasis on "mask, distance, and hygiene"
Prof. Dr. Uğur Bilge highlighted that the awareness initiatives organized by the health directorate help reinforce the importance and application of health precautions. Dr. Bilge stressed that adherence to mask, social distancing, and hygiene protocols are crucial in preventing the spread of the virus.
Staff should be educated on hygiene protocols
Providing specific precautions for the food and beverage sector, Dr. Bilge advised that employees should maintain distance, symptomatic individuals should be tested immediately, and double masking is recommended. He also emphasized the importance of frequent cleaning of high-contact surfaces and urged the use of single-use materials. Staff should be trained on hygiene, and masks should be replaced every 2-3 hours. He also recommended avoiding travel to high-risk areas or postponing trips to these locations.

Public Health Services Deputy Director Dr. Ahmet Mamur underlined that the continuity of open businesses and normalization measures is directly linked to case numbers. Emphasizing the correct use of masks to cover both the mouth and nose, he reminded attendees that adherence to these rules is crucial for overcoming this challenging period. Dr. Mamur also answered questions from ETO members during the session.
