SUPPORT FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS FROM ESKİŞEHİR GOVERNOR AYYILDIZ

Eskişehir Governor Erol Ayyıldız signed a declaration of support for the promotion of the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), an initiative launched by the TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Board.

On March 9, TOBB Eskişehir Women Entrepreneurs Board President Elif Gürkaynak, along with a delegation, visited Governor Ayyıldız. Gürkaynak briefed the governor on the board’s projects, emphasizing their commitment to fostering women entrepreneurship in Eskişehir. She noted that the board has transformed the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles into a local campaign to raise awareness and garner support from the city’s institutions for empowering women entrepreneurs.

Governor Erol Ayyıldız expressed his enthusiasm for supporting the development of women’s entrepreneurship and employment. He signed the declaration to support the local campaign, which is promoted in collaboration with UN Women Turkey, to encourage the widespread adoption of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) in Eskişehir.

The WEPs, a global initiative by the United Nations launched in 2010, aims to empower women across all sectors and levels of economic life. The platform provides the private sector with key guidelines to promote gender equality in workplaces, marketplaces, and communities.
