The steps to be taken to develop bilateral trade between Eskişehir and Malta and the opportunities Malta offers to investors were evaluated at the meeting held by ECC President Metin Güler and Malta's Ambassador to Ankara Theresa Cutajar.
Malta's Ambassador to Ankara Theresa Cutajar visited Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce in order to develop mutual economic relations and to create a basis for cooperation. Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, ECC President Metin Güler gave brief information about Eskişehir's economy to Theresa Cutajar, Ambassador of Malta in Ankara.Stating that Eskişehir is a city of trade and industry and that it has gained momentum in tourism in recent years, Güler noted that they have developed strategies to improve the city's exports and support the manufacturers in Eskişehir to reach new markets. Güler stated that they are working to lead the development of trade in Eskişehir underlining that they can cooperate with Malta in this direction.
Cutajar indicate that Turkey's economic and political relations based on very old and said that there have been two mutual contacts at the foreign and defense ministry levels in the past two months. She stated that Malta's EU membership has a strategic importance in the Mediterranean in terms of its proximity to North Africa, Turkish companies also use this advantage and there are more than 400 Turkish companies operating in the country.
She added that she sees her visit to Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce as a step taken for cooperation.
