MUTUAL TRADE MEETING WITH SPAIN

ECC Vice President Mr.Ali Koşar met with the Ambassador of Spain to Ankara Juan González Barba about the development of trade between Eskişehir and Spain and bringing new investments to the city.

Ali Koşar stated that the sectoral distribution of the economy in Eskişehir consists of 54% trade and services, 39% industry and 7% agriculture and noted that Eskişehir has diversity in industrial production. He stated that the city has hosted important brands in aviation, rail systems, white goods, textiles, building elements, ceramics and machinery manufacturing sector and stated that they will be pleased to cooperate with Spain in these sectors. He stating that 5 companies with Spanish capital are members of ETO, Spain ranks 5th among the biggest export partners of Eskişehir and stated that Spanish companies can easily invest in Eskişehir.

Ambassodor said that there is a strong cooperation between Eskişehir and Spain, but this cooperation can be further increased. He stated that Turkey does not consist only in Ankara and Istanbul, they will work in 12 cities, including Eskişehir. He stated that image of Eskisehir in Turkey and in the world has increased and Eskişehir has similar characteristics with Bilbao city. He stated that if Chambers between Eskişehir and Bilbao come together and make a cooperation agreement, bilateral relations will develop faster.He also stated that they are planning to create a business network by bringing together universities, municipalities, chambers and cultural institutions between Eskişehir and Spain.
